You enter the testing room. Lines of light shine from between window slats, illuminating a very plain metal table and two folding chairs.

The woman in the bowler hat sits in the chair farther from the door, and you sit opposite her.

On the table is a collection of a few objects. Three different color blocks, a Newton's cradle, and a deck of cards.

"I'm going to ask you to do a few things here," the woman says. "First, you must set the marbles in the cradle swinging with your mind. Then, you must list the order of the cards in the deck. Finally, you must read my mind and tell me which of the blocks I'm picturing."

The tasks' impossibility daunts you. You wipe your palms on your pant legs, suddenly nervous. This is important. Don't screw it up.
